Annapurna Base Camp Trek takes you to the heart of Annapurna mountains where you have a 360 degree panoramic view of Annapurna range,  Macchapuchere and other peaks. We start the trek on the southern foothills of the Annapurna range at the Village of Birenthati. As we ascend through the village of Tikhedhunga and Ulleri, we will reach the view point of Poon Hill offering you a magnificent panorama of peaks above 8000m including Annapurna I and Dhauligiri. After Poon Hill, our trek continues through lush rhododendron forests, along water falls and thundering rivers with endless views of Annapurna peaks – ultimately reaching Annapurna Base Camp. After base camp, we gradually descend to the village of Jhinu Dada where we will take a dip in a natural hot spring to relax our tired muscles. Annapurna Base Camp trek offers a contrast of landscapes, pristine nature, amazing close up views of Annapurna and other Himalayan peaks and memories of an awesome adventure.

Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu (1300m/4429ft)

On arrival in Kathmandu, Bergwelt Nepal representative will transfer you to your hotel. You will have a pre trip meeting followed with by a welcome dinner at a traditional local Nepali restaurant.

Day 2: Guided Tour of Kathmandu City

After you are finished with your breakfast, our tour guide will pick you up from your hotel. You will walk through narrow lanes of bustling bazar that leads to Kathmandu Durbar Square (ancient palace cotyard). After exploring this heritage site you will be visiting Swyambhunath Stupa, Boudanath Stupa, and Pashupatinath Temple. All of these sites are also listed in the UNESCO World Heritage Site. Kathmandu Valley is a mixture of ancient and modern croweded bazars but very vibrant and friendly. Ancient temples, shrines and colorful Stupas reflects the rich cultural and artistic heritage of Nepal. Enjoy a stroll in the evening around Thamel (downtown and centre of Kathmandu) where you have plenty of options to eat and enjoy a bottle of beer  in one of the live music bar.

Day 3: Drive to Pokhara (823m/2700ft)

After you are done with your breakfast, your guide will pick you up from the hotel and the journey to Pokhara begins (with a private vehicle it takes around 6-7 hours). Driving through small towns on curvy roads while  enjoying the constantly changing landscape is for sure an experience. On arrival in Pokhara you will be transfered directly to your hotel. Pokhara lies on the lake with views of the entire Annapurna Range. You can hire a paddle boat  and venture out in the lake (depending on your arrival) or grab a bottle of beer on one of the cafes at the shore of Phewa Lake to enjoy the sunset. In the evening you can stroll around the streets of Lakeside where there is plenty of Nepali and Western Cafes to eat.

Day 4: Drive to Hile (1430m/4691ft), trek to Ulleri (2020m/6627ft)

Your guide will pick you up from your hotel and you will drive with a private jeep to the start point of the trek. It takes usually around 3-4 hours to reach Hile (when everything goes as planned- road condition, vehicle breakdown, occassionally called road strikes etc. is unfortunately out of our control). From Hile you will be trekking for around 3-4 hours to reach Ulleri. At the begining you will trek thourgh the terraced farmlands to the small village of Tikhedhunga followed by a steep climb to reach Ulleri. You can enjoy the beautiful view of the valley from your tea house.

Day 5: Trek to Ghorepani (2874m/9429ft)

From Ulleri the trail leads up through a pleasant rhododendron forest. After walking for few hours, you will arrive at a small village of Nangethati nested in the woods where you can take a tea or lunch break. After a gentle ascent, we arrive at the village of lower Ghorepani but we will continue walking for another 10 – 15 minutes to reach the last tea house in Ghorepani – your overnight stay. Enjoy the beautiful view of Mt Dhaulagiri (8167m) and the Annapurna range from your room window.

Day 6: Hike to Poon Hill (3210m/10531ft), trek to Chuile (2342m/7684ft)

You can deciede either you want to hike up the Poon Hill view point (1 hour uphill) to observe the sunrise over the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri Range or have a relaxed morning at your tea house. To be honest the views are equally amazing from your tea house as well. You will have to ascend and descend few hills on this day to reach the tea house in Chuile. Big green front lawn, great view of Annapurna South and the entire valley will for sure take away the tiredness from a long day walk.

Day 7: Trek to Upper Shinwa (2360m/7743ft)

After having breakfast, we head down to the valley and cross few rivers untill we reach Chomrong. We will stop in Chomrong for lunch and one more river to cross before reaching our destination. Following the steep uphill with lots of stairs we wll reach Upper Shinwa.

Day 8: Trek to Deurali (3230m/10597ft)

On this day we will be walking in beautiful nature alongside Madi Khola. We will be walking in the valley for most of the time untill we reach Himalaya Hotel, after a lunch stop here, we will trek another hour or so till we reach Deurali.

Day 9: Trek to Annapurna Base Camp (4130m/13350ft)

This day is the most exciting day of the trek, as we head slowly towards the base camp. The breathtaking views will keep you motivated to conquer the last steps remaining untill our final destiantion. We ususlly arrive around midday at the base camp. You can enjoy the free afternoon here enjoying the views while sipping a warm cup of tea.

Day 10: Trek to Bamboo (2310m/7579ft)

We will retrace our way back from the base camp again. There is lots of walking downhill on this day. But we will be making enough stops in between. We will overnight in a small lodge in the middle of bamboo forest.

Day 11: Trek to Jhinu Danda (1780m/5840ft)

As we descend, temperature will also be warmer. We will retrace our way back untill Chomrong and then we take a steep downhill to reach Jhinu Danda. Here we will check in at our tea house and after lunch we head down to the natural hot springs. The natural hotsprings in Jhinu is for sure relaxing after a long days of trekking.

Day 12: Trek to Motkyu (1500m/4921ft), drive to (Pokhara (823m/2700ft)

After a relaxed morning, we will cross on of the longest hanging bridge in Nepal and make our way up to the small jeep stand in Motkyu. We will drive back to pokhara with a private jeep. You will have leisure afternoon in Pokhara. The streets of Lakeside is fun to stroll around in the evening.

Day 13: Drive back to Kathmandu (1300m/4429ft)

This is the last day of our trip. After breakfast the jounrey towards kathmandu begins with a private car or a small bus. Once we arrive in Kathmandu, we will transfer you to your hotel and meet later on for a farewell dinner.
