Manaslu Region lies in the central-west part of Nepal and is home to the world’s 8th highest mountain Mt. Manaslu (8156m). The name Manaslu stands for “mountain of the spirit” in Sanskrit. Manaslu region is unspoiled and isolated despite of it being in the center of the Himalayas. Trekking in this region requires a special permit as it is a restricted area. Trekking trails in Manaslu region are relatively quiet compared to other areas because only limited number of visitors allowed per year. Manaslu region also offers a unique culture and way of life. Picturesque traditional settelments and influence of Tibetan culture still being carried out by the locals is very facinating to observe during trekking in Manaslu Region. From terrace farmlands, high alpine pastures to glaciers this region also boasts a contrast of landscape.
